Framing and Exterior: When Your House Takes Shape

Framing is often the most thrilling stage for homeowners—it’s the moment their blueprints leap off the page and become a walkable structure. It’s this phase that brings their vision to near reality.

The framing crews step in to set the walls according to plan, lay in floor systems for any second stories, build the roof structure, and ensure everything is squared up. This lays the foundation for a super solid house. Following framing, we tackle the exterior phase—roof shingles go up, windows and doors slide into place, and we apply brick or siding all around. We also use a ZIP system weather barrier to keep everything protected and energy-efficient. By the third month, your house looks like a house from the outside, making it a truly rewarding milestone.

At this point, I schedule another walkthrough with you. You’ll have the opportunity to explore room sizes and room flow before we close the walls. This is your final chance to request any last-minute changes, whether it’s moving a door or adding a new window. Our framers, who’ve built hundreds of S. Clements homes, know precisely how I want things done.

Seeing your house take shape is a thrilling journey, one that feels incredibly real from this point onward. To discuss how you can be actively involved throughout each phase, call me at (469) 853-7952. I’d be thrilled to guide you through this exciting process, every step of the way.
