Bringing Your Vision to Life: The Framing and Exterior Phase

The framing phase is when the excitement truly starts to build—for you and for me. It’s when your floor plan transforms into a three-dimensional structure that you can finally walk through.

During this phase, our skilled framing crew sets up the walls, installs floor systems for second stories, and constructs the roof. They make sure everything is squared up and as solid as a Texas limestone rock. These guys have built hundreds of homes for us, and they know exactly how I like things done, ensuring every home is up to our standards.

Once framing is done, we move on to exterior work—putting on roof shingles, installing windows and doors, and finishing with brick or siding. We also wrap the house in ZIP system weather barrier for extra protection. By the end of the third month, your house starts to look like a real home from the outside.

This is a great time for another walkthrough. You get to experience room sizes and flow before walls close up. It’s also your last chance to request changes like moving a doorway or adding an extra window.
